I bought this for my child traveling to the University. I have advised many Asus laptops and it is unclear how much to spend on a credibility that is important to me. It 'really good - I love plenty of RAM and Windows 7. My two do not like is the keyboard. First, keyboard mapping amount of a rich full-size keyboard. This is great, but ends authoritative decreases keys than usual and I can not take a coat of abuse of keys on the keyboard reduction. It 'absolutely frustrating. Secondly, the keyboard has an absolute sense of chiffon - If you have a key to the absolute size of the keyboard on the main mushes down. Just feel absolutely fine. Otherwise I would have applauded this laptop.

The UL30A X5K was bought for a friend whose 4 years multimedia Dell laptop began giving soul.

This is the second X5K UL30A I received from Amazon. The first was a dead pixel at the center of the monitor, so I can go back and Amazon gave me this place very fast, no problem. Thanks Amazon. I bought this laptop mainly because it offers a mix of portability, battery life and performance. I have a 10 "Netbook Asus eeePC and a 17" Sony Vaio FW series. I needed a notebook with more power and functionality of my netbook, but with better portability of my Sony Vaio. I chose this version over the one with switchable graphics card because of the lower price. So far the card 4500MHD met my needs perfectly. I usually use the computer to surf the Internet, to create MS Office documents, and entertainment such as online video and video / music playback. Video playback is excellent, I have no problem streaming HD video content.

I was admiring with this archetypal UL30A, I did not charge or wish the switchable video, so this was a acceptable arrangement at 599 for the beyond 13.3 awning and abounding admeasurement keyboard. The awning is actual thin, anthology is ablaze and solid. I accept a few added Asus notebooks and like the chicklet appearance keyboard they use. It is aswell actual air-conditioned running. The acumen I would not accord it 5 stars is the antic array affirmation or 12 hours. This is not astute in any fashion. I would say it is in the ambit of 7-8 with accustomed use, so even if aggregate is angry off I don’t see any way to get to 12.

Unfortunately, the one delivered to me had a harder drive that already starting whirring the clicks of death.
